Pastor Randy MilletHere at IAM it is our desire to do the work our Lord has called us to do—visit the widows and orphans, heal the sick, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, encourage the depressed, and train up leaders from among the people of the nations. We have witnessed miracles, developed relationships with world changers, discipled local pastors, birthed missionaries, and lit fires under young and old to do the will of the Father. Won’t you join us in our journey to follow Jesus to the ends of the earth? There are many opportunities to get involved with IAM, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

What is IAM? | What does the name IAM mean? | What does IAM do? | How to get involved?

What is IAM?

Jesus is doing awesome things in the world today, and missions is an opportunity to personally get involved in the Master’s work.

In Matthew 28:19 Jesus clearly states, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” With this command He further promises that—as seen in Mark 16:16-18—signs of salvation, deliverance, protection, healing, spiritual outpouring, and victory would “follow them that believe.”

At IAM that is exactly what we plan to do—to be Christ’s ambassadors, equipped with the Holy Spirit, so that lives can be changed and He be glorified!

What does the name IAM mean?
salvation

IAM is an acronym for INTERNATIONAL AID MISSION. As Moses was sent by God to set His people free, Moses asked God what His name was. The Lord’s reply was “I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."
(Exodus 3:14 )

While we do not claim to be Moses, we do recognize that God used Moses mightily to deliver Israel from the grip of Egypt. And if He used Moses, then He can use you and me to break the grip of Satan in our communities and in the world!

What does IAM do?

evangelismBut ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:8

At IAM, we see Acts 1:8 as the Lord’s mandate for outreach and discipleship. Jerusalem represents local missions which includes the New Orleans metro area as well as the United States as a whole. IAM is concerned with the local community through involvement in, but not limited to:

  • seeing people come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through evangelism
  • ministering to the needs of seniors
  • making available life’s basic necessities for others
  • reaching out to individuals having substance addictions with rehab programs
  • supporting local ministries and churches

Judea represents those nations that are close to the United States—the Caribbean, North America, and South America. To date, we have ministered in different degrees to the nations of Costa Rica, Haiti, Honduras, and Mexico. Our commitment to the people of Haiti and Mexico remains constant with regular mission trips and outreach that individuals can participate in.

In both Mexico and Haiti we are:

  • seeing people come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through evangelism
  • constructing buildings and physical improvements for orphanages and churches
  • working with orphanages in supplying food, clothing, and other needs
  • supporting local pastors and ministries in their own missions vision
Samaria represents open nations, while the uttermost part of the earth represents closed nations, in terms of evangelism. Presently, we are seeking the Lord’s direction on where we should go next. With invitations to minister in places like Africa, China, India, and Russia, we recognize that the Lord is opening even more doors of opportunity to IAM!

How to get involved?

Then saith He unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37-38

First, pray for the ministry and about what the Holy Spirit might have you do with IAM. We ask that as you consider contributing to the ministry or going on a trip, that you spend time in prayer. Also, we need co-labourers to stand with us, seeking the Lord’s direction and power, so that we can be effective for His purposes. Not everyone can go on a mission trip but everyone can pray.
outreach
Second, contribute financially. IAM is a nonprofit organization whose financial contributors do receive tax credit. All gifts—that’s 100%—go to the need and none goes to the IAM administration or personal expenses. Contributions are carefully accounted for and are spent only as direct tools for ministry. Hence, a donation will pay for food given to an orphanage or for a foundation of a new church building, but it will never pay for an IAM missionary’s hotel or travel.

Finally, you can join us on a trip. Trip fees and requirements can differ depending on the country. The cost of a trip is generally $300.00 above travel and lodging—pricing can be furnished upon request.

Requirements are a bit more specific. The individual must:

  • have received Jesus as Savior
  • fill out an application
  • have their pastor speak with an IAM missions coordinator
  • be willing to conform to team dress and conduct code
  • meet the physical and age requirements
